We are committed to academic excellence, intellectual independence, and the preparation of students for success in higher education and beyond. Our philosophy reflects a balance of rigorous standards, personal responsibility, and meaningful engagement within a supportive learning environment.

 

Our curriculum is aligned with the California Common Core Standards in English Language Arts and Mathematics and follows the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in science. Through these internationally recognized frameworks, students engage in advanced analytical reading, structured academic writing, mathematical modeling, scientific investigation, and evidence-based reasoning. This rigorous foundation ensures that graduates meet high academic standards and are well prepared to earn their American High School Diploma.

 

In alignment with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education requirements, students receive instruction in Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Qatar History as mandated. These courses reinforce national identity, cultural awareness, and respect for the values and heritage of Qatar, while English remains the primary language of instruction in core academic subjects.

 

High School at BHIS offers a dynamic and flexible academic structure that allows students to explore interdisciplinary connections and pursue individual interests. Advanced Placement (AP) courses and a broad selection of electives provide opportunities for academic challenge, specialization, and college readiness. Whether in STEM fields, humanities, languages, or the arts, students are encouraged to deepen their knowledge and discover their strengths.

 

Beyond academics, we emphasize leadership, service, and character development. Community service participation fosters responsibility, empathy, and civic engagement. Through student council and other leadership platforms, students develop collaboration, initiative, and a strong sense of ownership within the school community.

 

Comprehensive college and career counseling supports students in planning their post-secondary pathways, guiding them through university applications and future aspirations. Our goal is to graduate confident, capable young adults who are academically prepared, culturally grounded, and equipped with the critical thinking and ethical judgment necessary to contribute positively to society.
