Welcome to our school’s Early Years Department!

At BHIS Early Years, we believe that the foundation of lifelong learning is built upon curiosity, security, and joyful exploration. Our philosophy centers on nurturing the whole child— academically, physically, socially, and emotionally—within a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment.

Our curriculum is thoughtfully aligned with the California Common Core Standards, ensuring that early literacy and numeracy skills are developed through meaningful, age-appropriate experiences. In English Language Arts, children build strong foundations in phonemic awareness, vocabulary development, speaking, and listening skills. In Mathematics, they explore number sense, patterns, measurement, and problem-solving through hands-on activities that encourage critical thinking and conceptual understanding.

We recognize that young children learn best through active engagement. Our program integrates play-based and inquiry-driven learning experiences that blend theory with practice. Through Project-Based Learning, guided discovery, and collaborative activities, children develop creativity, communication skills, and early analytical thinking in ways that are both structured and developmentally appropriate.

Equally important to academic readiness is the physical and emotional well-being of each child. Our Early Years program places strong emphasis on gross and fine motor development, coordination, and healthy habits through Physical Education, movement-based learning, and structured play. We foster emotional intelligence by helping children recognize and express their feelings, build resilience, develop empathy, and cultivate positive relationships with peers and adults. A supportive classroom environment promotes self-confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging.

In alignment with national requirements, the curriculum is enriched with Arabic and Islamic Studies, ensuring cultural awareness and respect for Qatar’s identity and values.

At BHIS Early Years, we are committed to creating a nurturing educational journey where children feel valued, supported, and inspired—developing not only the academic foundations aligned with international standards, but also the character, confidence, and well-being essential for future success.
